Lairs, they're all liars

Disclosure falls on deaf ears:

By SS Collins

Is the idea of an intelligent extraterrestrial life form so scary that people would flat-out refuse to believe? Is it the equivalent of saying to a Christian that there was no creation? Or to a scientists that there was no evolution? Is it in fact something that the human mind will just not accept as reality, no matter the evidence? One might seriously reconsider the immediate reaction to answers those questions.

Since last week's uneventful, yet long awaited press conference in Washington DC by The Disclosure Project, it's easy to imagine nothing ever convincing those who just don't want to believe. Short of a landing on the White House lawn, or the televised abduction of the President, people will still refuse to believe the possibility that aliens might just be real, and the government might just know it.

What is more amazing, is when you ask such people why the 400 some people ready to testify in front of congress would lie, they have no idea. After all, they must all be liars.

The thing is, that from Jesse Marcel to Philip Corso to J. Alan Hynek, to Bob Lazar, to the current 400 plus former military, CIA, FBI, DOD, NSA (insert favorite letters here) etc..., all of them must be liars right? They are all lying for their own personal gain. They are all willing to tarnish, for what some was a spotless and beaming military career, to throw away everything good they have done, for what?

None of these men and woman are getting rich, none of them are being touted as hero's, so why in Gods name do they keep doing it? Why stick your name, and neck, out there for the Psudoskeptics to chop off? Why? Why? Why?

These are the real questions that can't be answered. For some unknown reason people keep coming forward, adding to the pile, telling outlandish tails of UFOs and alien beings. Telling wild fantasies about the US military's experiments with captured alien artifacts, oh, they can really spin 'em, every God damn one of them could be a best selling Science Fiction writer. These people twist yarns that would make Jules Vern sit up from his grave and take notice. But why?

Most will say they are doing it for money or recognition. What? Do you honestly believe these people are becoming millionaires? Even a "best selling" book about the subject like "The Day After Roswell" by Philip Corso for example, did not make him rich. As a long time writer let me tell you that one, two, even three best selling books don't make you rich. Sure you can put together a nice little nest-egg with three best sellers, but lets be real, none of these books have Steven King's or Dean Koontz' numbers, and trust me that the term "best seller" is totally relative.

More often than not, these people ruin careers with their statements, so in all reality writing a tell-all book might be their only shot at making a good living. It's done more for survival than for profit or glory.

So why are people, in such massive number, willing to come forward and tell these stories? Is it easier to believe that all of them are either pathological liars, or flat out schizophrenic, than it is to believe they might be telling the truth? It must be, but the only problem with that, is that it defies even more logic than an alien spacecraft.

The numbers don't add up. Why would Edgar Mitchell tell stories of UFOs? It's not like since he said what he said on that nationally aired talk show, that all of then are dying to get him on. The fact is that the vast majority of people just easily whisk it away with a "Oh, poor dear must have hit his head one too many times on reentry."

If these people are all liars, or crazy, then we as a society need to recalculate the number of medically insane people on the planet. We need to come up with better ways to judge credibility, since the old ways are not working.

A person who seems totally sane, yet tells stories of aliens, must be fooling us. The best psychologists in the world are being fooled every day, and we need to stop it. We need to find out why all these people are either liars or crazy, and we need to do it now because the numbers are seemingly growing. We as a populace are getting crazier, and more prone to lying.

Not to mention there is something collectively wrong with our eyes, because we obviously see things in the sky that we can't identify. Also our electronics are all bad, technology has betrayed us since all those videos of UFOs are tricks of the camera, refracting light improperly. How can we trust anything that Hubble sends back? How can we be sure it's not just one big trick of light?

So there you have it! The disclosure project is tackling the wrong problems. At the rate this disclosure project is going, we will all be dead before they make any progress, not that it's their fault, or for lack of effort. The mainstream media coverage of the event was paltry at best, and at times it was even detrimental.

It's tough enough to do battle with Big Brother. When all his friends jump in to form a circle around the beating, to mask it from the outside, it's almost impossible.
